Lol, play with the big boys? Sounds like someone who doesn’t have a clue about hardware and the industry.
“Most” companies are smart enough to see a practical ROI with their hardware. This isn’t such an investment. It’s reminds me of the audiophiles who spend thousands on amps and speakers for the aesthetic and clout.
I can’t agree with this, I’ve seen PC builds for far less, and they come with liquid cooling.
I’m a “serious media pro” and I wouldn’t invest in this system.
Beware, there have been a lot of issues with this light: Flickering, power button failures, led strips going out, and complete light failure.
I’ve personally used Astras in the past with great success, and no issues.
On one occasion I was in Greece shooting an interview and a gust of wind caught the light. The light fell from 6 feet, face first onto a sharp boulder. I thought for sure it was dead. After picking it up I was surprised that it still worked, with no damage.
So I’m really not sure what the deal is with these.
Now just learn how to do some simple modeling and projection map your stills and you’ll have the X and Y axis as well as Z.
I’ve never use Aputure lights before, but this lantern looks pretty convenient. I might have to check this out. If their lights are clean enough this would be a great supplement in a B kit.
