You're right! I have the ultra speedboost. But regardless, for some reason, I always thought that micro 4/3 sensors couldn't have the same attributes as full-frame because the full-frame cams I've used just seemed... different than my m4/3 setup. Now I know, thank you! I've got some reaserch to do :)
That's exactly what I have, the speedbooster on my P4K, it helps with the focal lengths but not with the DOF.
Basically I want full frame in the P4K for the full frame look and, honestly, I spent way too much on my lenses to have them not be at the focal length they are. I need my 24mm to be a 24mm.
This looks pretty awesome, but it's amazing the lengths manufacturers will go to NOT put a full frame sensor in the blackmagic pocket 4K. IT'S LITERALLY ALL WE NEED! haha :)
If you had a film that was honestly eligible for sundance you would have managers and a studio backing that would get it in front of programmers for you, you wouldn't need to read any articles like this.
The problem with these big fests (and things like any narrative film grants!) that no journalists ever report on is how much of a HUGE cash grab this is at the expense of young filmmakers who have been told, more than anything, to "Believe in your work with your full heart".
The fact that articles like this are written on behalf of a fest like Sundance and directed at the demographic that has the least chance of getting in just rubs me the wrong way. They get 9,000 shorts submitted every year and only have room for 60-70. Is no one else understanding how much free money that is for them??? Don't you think it's wrong for them to hype us young filmmakers up like this just so they can take advantage of us?
If they really cared about us they would lower their submission fees instead of raising them, OR have a sliding scale based on the film's budget.
I, too, have done the same thing! Haha :) Even America has even cut back on American movies... It's a classic case of how no one can love you unless you learn to love yourself.
And honestly, good for China! They know their worth and importance and they're taking steps to not let other countries walk all over them.
This is where ad blockers come in. I have 3 running on my browser at all times, I haven't seen an ad on any site, let alone any streaming site, for years. (And ad blockers are FREE!)
I think we should focus our energy on the useless ads at the movie theater telling you how awesome the movie theater that you're currently sitting in is... That has to be one of the most inefficient form of advertising ever.
