From last week's IBC'2014, an interview with the NHK rep about their 8K system.
4K is soooooo 2013.

Do the pros use it? There are a lot of various companies doing film emulation but I would think that, as discussed previously, a pro would just scan the video back onto a 35 mm film (can be done sideways a la Vista Vision for any ratio) and then scan it back to digital. A feature length scan would run no more than a couple of grand.
