Article Comment – URSA Mini Pro 12K Shoot Out: Does Resolution Make A Difference?

The moire on the URSA on the subject's clothes cannot be blamed on the sensor or even the resolution. It is a function of the thread count or weave pattern on the shirt. Change the resolution or the shirt and the moire will disappear. Moire is caused when two (or more) different but similar patterns are overlaid on each other. In this case the 12k resolution of the URSA is beating or being interfered with by the weave of the shirt, probably because they are close to each other when the frequency of the resolution is a close multiple of the weave thread count. For example if the thread count is 300 per inch it could form a moire pattern when overlaid with the 12,000 pixel per inch resolution of the sensor.

Article Comment – With the iPhone 11 Pro, Mobile Filmmakers Finally Get a Cinema Camera

Portrait mode is not a video mode and should never be. That's for amateur shooters holding a phone in one hand.
And the three cameras on the 11 will just encourage the jump cut which professionals have taken painstaking care to avoid.
Just because technology can make it happen does not mean that we throw away all we have learned as filmmakers over decades.

Article Comment – A Touching Short Film About a Rare & Terrifying Disease, Made By a 17 Year Old Director

So-called modern science has eschewed any and all alternative methods of treating disease.
The description of this malady seems to indicate that it would respond to other interventions such as MCT or coconut oil and hemp oil. But we may never know since these alternative protocols will never be recommended by anyone who only want to use medicines that have been patented. It's all a question of money.
Now that's the premise for a good film.

Article Comment – Placing Lav Mics on Talent Can Be Super Awkward: Here's How the Pros Do It

All good information but... never put your hands up anyone's shirt or blouse.
Pass the mic cable down from the top of the garment or have the talent do that for themselves and fish the plug end out the bottom of the garment, before attaching the transmitter.
