Boards Comment – Looking for a Writing Partner

Yes sure, well I want to create a tragicomedy. My basic idea is for a guy, a real loser, who works at a small grocery store in his small town. He's dealing with the question: Is this all my life has to offer? He is getting older, and has accomplished nothing. He didn't go to college, and lives in his deceased mothers home. He wonders whats the point of it all. One day, he accidentally walks into a drug deal, or some other kind of illegal deal, it was something he didn't need to see. There is a dead body, and the men see him. They chase him, and he gets away, but he dropped his satchel, with his ID in it. Well, it's a form of ID: A frozen yogurt card. It has his name, to which they are able to find where he lives. They begin to threaten him with death, if he doesn't take care of their dirty business. They make him clean up after them, and all sorts of other things. They force him to get rid of the body, to which he calls his close friend, to help in panic. His friend gets mad at him for dragging him into it, but reluctantly agrees to help. Through all the tough illegal things, the two are made to do, they build a very close friendship, which helps the two deal with their fears and trauma they had endured. A bit of a stretch, but what do you think?

Thanks,
Seth

Ok, I'll look into that. I want good actors, but I don't want them to be over the top.

Thank you for the advice. I already have a story written, but I don't know where to get good actors. Where do you find your actors for your short films?

Yes this is my first short film. I'm putting more money and attention to the overal "look" of the film, instead of camera/audio. I also have no actors. All I have is a decent camera, mic, location, and idea.
