I really hope they release a firmware update for the SHOGUN INFERNO & SUMO19.
All i need is for DJI to make a gimbal for this and i'll stick it on my s1000! I'd much rather fly this then an ALEXA MINI or a RED.
It wouldn't surprise me if these cameras are severely overpriced from the beginning and even with the price reductions its still OVERPRICED! This to me simply means that their profit margins are EXTREMELY high! Even if they were to make the c300 $5K and the c500 under $10K its still a profit for them. Again, with the c500 you need other recording devices to achieve 2K and 4K (Codex, AJA KiPro Quad, Odyssey 7Q or ATOMOS SHOGUN) forcing you to spend more money. Why didn't they look at two of the leaders (ARRI & RED) and see that they should have a better workflow with being able to internally capture footage and not rely on third party manufacturers to achieve 2K and 4K? Canon should consider their next camera to capture RAW internally and use a SSD drive like RED or Black Magic. In the meantime voice all of your concerns here on this page. https://www.facebook.com/CanonStopTapDancingAndUpdateTheC300
CANON CANON CANON!!! Here is where it will become interesting on Canons next release of their c300. My guess is the price is going to be well over $10,000 yet I believe they will only offer 1080 120fps max. The criticism they'll probably receive is the SONY FS700 offered 2K@240fps & the price was less expensive when it came out, plus they offered multiple firmware updates. The 4K feature probably won't be a true RAW format with SSD drives. Will they change the HUD so the data is around the image & not on the image. Will the waveform be able to show up on an external monitor? If the body of their new c300 will remain the same will they go the way of RED & offer an upgrade solution? Everything I'm saying is pure speculation.
