Scarlett Johanson's lawyer emailed Disney in 2019 with fears about Black Widow going to digital release and Disney Lawyer's lawyers said they were going strictly theatrical and if anything changed then Johanson's lawyer can come in and renegotiate the terms. Also Iger and Chapek made a huge bonus if Disney+ subscriptions went up from a year prior. So I think she has a good case force majeure be dammed.
I swear I read another draft in 2014 that was credited to you only and said it was your original script and just had your name on it. Sorry about that. As I was reading it I was wondering just how much Boam rewrote cause it pretty much was mostly the same except for the few changes I noted above and I thought "Well I wonder if he got a lot of money for changing a few things". The script had when they got to the hotel Leo was staying at before they went in they walked by the pool and Riggs started hitting on the women sun bathing on the side of the pool and Murtah said something like "Well your getting back into the swing of things" and then they go in and up to meet Leo. The only other difference I saw was in the gold pen scene where Riggs said he was having an affair and that is why he did not show up at the restaurant the night she was killed. And the only other change was Riggs dying at the end in Murtah's arms while you can hear ambulance sirens heading to the scene. Well internet of 2014 f'ed me again.
Most of Black's script for Lethal Weapon 2 is the same except Riggs living (It literally is the same scene with the same dialog from Riggs and Murtaugh except that Riggs dies in his arms). The scene with the gold pen is a departure from the film, Riggs tells Murtaugh's wife that he was having an affair the night his wife got killed. She went to the restaurant and he forgot as he was out having an affair and when he got home he got the call that his wife had been killed and he dropped to the floor as he forgot he was supposed to meet his wife at the restaurant and he stood her up to have that affair. Had he not been having an affair and been at the restaurant with his wife he would have been driving. That was his guilt in the first film and why he was trying to kill himself was he was an asshole husband and she might have been alive if he had been a good husband but he fucked everything up. Also in the same scenes in the movie he was hitting on more women. Like when they got to the hotel where they meet Leo, the pools that he falls into, they walk by it and there are all these hot women sun bathing and he starts hitting on them and Murtaugh says something about "Well your getting back into the swing of things nicely". The studio asked that be taken out because all these things made Riggs a dick and took any empathy you had for him away. But most of the stuff you see on film is Black's script. Pretty much 98% of it including dialog is his.
Was he ever funny. The only thing I ever laughed at that he did was when he went to New York after the first movie came out and hew as making the rounds promoting it and pulled his Borat skit and a couple of guys beat the crap out of him. Now that was good comedy.
Yes. It is mostly the same script and characters with some Airport 1975 thrown in but yeah many of the lines are the same. Many of the actors cast were cast as they looked like the original actors in Zero Hour. They even bought the rights for a remake as they were worried of being sued by the guys who made Zero Hour
