If you think how good this device will be as a phone is important, you are completely missing the point. This device happens to ALSO be a phone. This is from RED. Think about it from the standpoint of within a RED ecosystem. I think making this also be a phone wasn't even necessary, but there will be content sharing and workflow options that will open up because of it. Hydrogen Two (or whatever the successor is) with a 5G connection will really make that sharing & workflow shine, I'm sure.
There are rumors about an FS5 Mk II at NAB, but no details on it.
Looks nice, but the Anker Astro Pro2 20000mAh looks like a lot more juice for only $80 at Amazon.
Mechanical only, ouch. Thanks for chiming in with real info, though; it's appreciated.
For a Super35mm size sensor with global shutter, 4:2:2 at 60fps, and you think that would be available for only $1,500? Get real.
Exactly what I was thinking. Anker makes a 20,000mAh battery pack I was planning on getting to use with my BMPCC...
