Along these lines is there a similar app/website for a) locations? Or another way to say it; Air BNB for locations? and b) for props like cars, clothes, appliances, typewriters, etc?
Did you really just write "Koobs" for Stanley Kubrick?
Thank you soooo much for this. I re-watched this film a few months ago and it just insanely thrilled me all over again. And yet I'm so mystified as to why? It's a clunky, grainy, amateurish film right? But there's a lot going on underneath as this commentary/analysis shows. So helpful. This is a total testament to how film if subtly done is akin to deep hypnosis and wizardry.
Damn they're pricey. $600 for a 10 x 10 inch. I would love to hear of alternative sources of this concept of lighting. Didn't you or some other website post a DIY version?
I learned a LOT from a terrible movie called For Lovers Only by the Polish Brothers. Supposedly an ode to the Claude LeLouch film A Man and a Woman its was improvised and it shows. There's no compelling story arc and they randomly make out throughout the film and it's so anticlimactic and self-indulgent. What I learned is that you
have to earn that first kiss...and any subsequent kisses and sex scenes. Most good romantic or sensual dramas force the characters to work hard before the fun stuff happens.
The cinematography, on the other hand.", shot on 5D B/W on the fly, is gorgeous.
Isn't there an iPhone app or website that automates the call sheet process? I thought it was posted here some time ago. I could be imagining it and just used to smart coders solving yet another filmmaking hassle.
