You will want to go with the bigger bandwidth camera. The 5XR, IF you want to stretch grading as high as possible. The X5 has only a max bitrate of 60mbps and only records in compressed formats, whereas the X5R is 1.6Gbps @ 4k (24fps) lossless Cinema DNG (RAW). 12 stops of DR won't do much if your bitrate and formats are not good. http://www.dji.com/products/compare-xcamera
DJI has come up with a product that is extremely integrated, however, the BlackMagic Micro Cinema offers 13 stops DR, RAW recording, and more features and support than the DJI one. For $995. Paired together with one of our drone systems, such as our Gryphon Dynamics (quad) and you will be able to remotely control the camera in pretty much the same fashion as with the Inspire Pro, at about half the cost of the Inspire+X5R (check our blog in the coming weeks). We will include the camera as well. You will be able to control zoom, iris, white balance, recording, and other features at will using our upgraded ground station. So if you are in a budget and can't afford the pricey quad, we may have a solution.
It's a great camera/gimbal solution otherwise.
Not sure my comment went through, so I'll have do it again.
Not trying to start an argument against you, but I would humbly suggest a change in attitude.
As a frequent reader of this site, I do not also enjoy seeing these articles. Like others have mentioned, porn is damaging. In the past I was severely addicted to it, to the point of almost killing myself. Up to this day I struggle with it, but not as bad as I used to. Yes, porn is damaging, porn silently kills and degrades women to the lowest trash in the world, besides destroying men's souls.
Having said that. I understand this is your site and you can post whatever you want. You also have the freedom to tell us to go to another place if we want to, and that's fine. However, as a business owner, who also contacted you about doing advertising with your company a while back, you do a disservice to your blog. I'm still interested in doing advertising with you, but I've been hesitating due to these articles that pop up from time to time.
I come here to learn about new products and techniques, and talk with other fellow minded cinematographers, but I hate these articles, they don't provide anything valuable to me. It's your blog and I respect your wishes, but I won't be able to do business with your company.
With all due respect.
Nice upgrade. For those of us who love the A7s low light capabilities, I doubt this version with the high pixel count and all, will be able to compete with it in low light environments. On the other hand all the other specs and features are great!
That's it. Loved the practical FXs and miniatures they used back then.
Its shape kind of reminds me of a movie back in the 90s about flying robots, forgot the name of the movie. Nice copter for newbies but if you like to control the drone's flight you probably want something else.
