In regards to your question about the Sony a6000 or the Lumix G7, I would pick the Sony hands down. I have personally owned the a6000 since around the time that the camera was introduced. The a6000 has a larger sensor, better image quality as well as more megapixels, and faster autofocus. In my opinion, Sony is the most innovative camera company in the industry. If you have glass from other companies i.e., canon, nikon etc, you can use them with an adapter. The Sony ecosystem is simply more robust. In regards to Jonathen Goosens comment, the a5100 came out after the a6000 but it is a step below the a6000, the a5100 actually replaced the a5000, and it lacks the viewfinder, has less manual controls than the a6000 and shoots less frames per second. Upont it's initial launch, it had better video capabilities than the a6000, but Sony released a firmware update for the a6000 which fixed this.
