"Richard"/Jason, it sounds like you think a movie that has a long dolly shot, or an ironic snap zoom is automatically a masterpiece. Maybe the next time you feel the need to explain to your mom why Phantom Thread is a masterpiece, just spare her the torture and clean the dishes instead.
Inherent Vice and OUATIH are both awful movies. Far too long, boring, decadent, indulgent, aimless, pointless. To boot, OUATIH is outright misogynistic and disdainful of the audience. It's impossible to watch or appreciate either of them non-ironically even if you're a total film nerd. PTA and Tarantino made them as exercises in testing how much they can punish an audience with nostalgia for a time and place that no one cares about except themselves. Would love for anyone to try to explain why either movie is more entertaining than an episode of Spongebob.
Yes and no. Extra green channel contributes to the human perception of brightness but it isn't the luminance channel.
Either way you want to define it, my point was that saying this new BM camera is "only" 12-bit compared to 16-bit isn't completely fair considering Red cameras have an extra channel of color information altogether.
That's because Red cameras have an extra green channel for whatever reason. That's partially why BM made a point of saying there's an equal amount of RGB pixels in this new sensor.
Totally agree. This behavior should be reported and he should be fined by the DGA, if possible. That’s nothing other than deliberate abuse of the cast and crew so he can go on a power trip and pretend he’s a perfectionist.
As we all know, the best way to improve at anything is to get only positive feedback that tells you how great you are.
