Strictly speaking, Michael Kahn is not a hold out. He's been cutting on Avid for many years by having an Assistant Editor operate the computer for him. Alan Heim's quote is outdated, too. Not being able to see an actor's eyes in an NLE is from a time when that was actually true. Heim most certainly used an NLE when cutting I Saw The Light in 2015.
