Boards Comment – The A7 I used for my travel rig is a soft, moire-filled mess. Looking for replacement ideas.

The current frontrunner is the a6000 which, like the a5100, seems to have better sensor sampling (hence less moire). However, the a6000 would require an external HDMI recorder due poor in-camera recording but this is a very minor problem.

The a5100's 50mbps XAVCS codec is wonderful over the AVCHD found on the a6000 and a7. My issue with the a5100 is that it has no viewfinder and poor controls (just one dial, everything else must be done in-menu).

Other contenders were the FF Nikon DSLRs and the GH4, although I am not sure of the GH4's lowlight performance - especially considering the more extreme low-light conditions I face in clubs and festivals. I'm unsure how the video of something like the D610 or GH4 would stack up to the a5100/6000 using an external recorder.

There are many others that I have probably missed.
