A Reel As A Story - 2016 Show Reel

Hey all - I tried something different with my 2016 showreel to really get across the type of filmmaker I am.
I tried to use a variety of different work to tell a story, a journey in a way. I felt it represented who I am better, while still giving potential clients a good idea of what I do and what I've worked on.
I was wondering if it works! I'd love to hear constructive thoughts and ideas, as I am constantly learning and eager to learn (as I am sure we all are!).
All shots, as well as the music, were done by me: https://vimeo.com/152042503

Tech/Gear Fun
-Almost all shot on the BMPCC with a Sigma 18-35 and Tokina 11-16.
-A couple shots from the FS7, FS100 and one timelapse shot from the GH4.

Great work. I really like this as a reel. And the music was fantastic. The break that happens at :50 is a beautiful moment and the use of the lantern shots there was awesome.

I would've actually liked seeing the second lantern shot in place of the first shot since it feels like a richer frame. And I think it would match with the grandiosity of the change in music.

Great work nonetheless

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words man, really happy to hear my more story-based 'experimental' reel works/makes sense!
