Audio Gear for FIlmmaking. (rodevideomic go)

Hey guys. I have a rode videomicgo, coupled with the Canon 80 d. THe quality of sound i get it is actually pretty bland. There isnt much of a difference with the onboard mic when compared tbh.

I'm thinking of purchasing a zoom h1 recorder to connect with the mic for producing better sounds. What do you guys reckon? (i'm on a budget)

What kind of sounds are you recording?

The Rode mic should pick up less camera handling noise. It should reduce wind noise outside. It should be more directional, picking up less ambient noise and focussing more on whatever it's pointing towards.

I wonder if experimenting more with mic placement would help, rather than buying a new recorder.

Ahmed, can you post a download link for a 20-30 second sample of your audio in WAV format ?

Part of getting great audio from a recording is how you process your audio in post, so I would like to see if I can improve the quality of your audio by just using standard audio tools.

I will post a download link to my results if I think they are worth listening to, and I will explain what I did to change the sound quality of your recording. No guarantees I will succeed, but I would like to give it a try.
