What would you prefer if you had the choice?
It is hard to decide between both since price is almost the same.
I like the physical construction of the Video Devices units better ( all metal case ) and they have a well known reputation for producing excellent audio gear, so my choice would be Video Devices, but I'm sure either one will do a good job with most cameras.

What are you shooting with? The specs seem to indicate that the PIX-E5H is limited to 60FPS in HD. The Ninja Assassin can do up to 120FPS in HD. If you plan on shooting any slow motion, that may be a bottleneck for you. Not choosing one over the other. Just giving you a heads up on something I noticed.

PIX-E5H has been updated to now do 120fps in HD

thx for your answers so far.
Slomo is not an issue cause the camera outputs max 60 frames/second over HDMI.
4K is anayway only 30fps output max.

E5-H is solid. Full HDMI input is a blessing compared to mini/micro. Display is sharp/crisp. Media is well thought out, great construction. Doesn't have video flip yet - that's the only drag!

I've used both and both are awesome. A little feature that's nice on the the PIX-E5H is how the drives that record data have built in USB 3.0 connectors (just like a thumb drive).
Beautiful image on the PIX-E5H, fast navigation, and fairly intuitive menu system.
Just like the Ninja, the PIX-E5H loves to eat batteries :) But, did I mention how beautiful the screen looks?!

Thank you all guys for your input.
I think I'll go with the PIX-E5H.

Pix e5h does have monitor flip views. Dope. I just got it and new update is essential.
