DJI osmo vs DJI osmo mobile

Hi!

I have a new shoot coming up and i need to be able to make smooth shots. So i am looking at the DJI osmo line of cameras since they seem to do what i want.

The reason i cant decide on what to get is because of image quality. I like the one that comes with the camera a lot because i like stand alone cameras, but you seem to have a phone connected to it at all times. The mobile variant seems more versitile, i can use my phone or my gopro and i'm also able to upgrade as phones etc gets better.

I want to be able to unpack and shoot fairly quickly without to much hassle. While they both have certain advantages i also have a very strict budget.
Since i am tired of buying equipment and not being satisfied with them and ending up buying a lot more than i could afford i thought i would ask around first to get another perspective.

So uses, except this project where it is going out to a customer on a international level i plan on using it on travel videos. "selfie" shots will be used there.

I have almost decided on the mobile one but i would love to hear different thoughts from users and not reviewers.

I just picked up the osmo mobile myself and am very glad I did. the footage is very smooth combined with my iphone 6s+ I can shoot in 4k. so why waste the 300 extra to buy the osmo 4k. it you have a budget id suggest the mobile is your best bet imo. its not perfect but neither is the 4kosmo. using the filmic pro app on you cellphone in conjunction with the mobile will give you a lot more control over you settings than the DJI app gives you.

Thanks for your thoughts! I have an iphone 7 that i will use mostly. Too bad you cant use the z-axis on the mobile version, would be nice to have.

Have you tried mounting a gopro on it? I have seen adapters but i worry that you will se the gimbal in the frame. Not that the gopro has better quality than the iphone, just nice to not use a phone sometimes.

Filmic pro seems as a must since the onboard stabilization of the iphone 7 interferes and creates jitter.

I have seen people mount a gopro on it and it looked like it worked fine for the most part. you will lose all the functionality that the app offers.
