Don't hold back... on this music video I directed

Would love some criticism from the film community. Directed this music video, and got a lot of positive feedback from friends and family, which is what you'd expect. But what I'm really seeking here is cold hard criticism from the experts on here, so I can learn from my mistakes.

Also, feel free to ask me anything about this shoot. It was a 14 hour shoot through the night and we went through a lot of successes and failures during that time. I want to help you all grow and learn from my mistakes too.

I was pretty impressed before the cg vine grabbed her leg. The concept is interesting and done to a pretty good level I just get pulled out when theres cgi that doesnt blend well into the scene.

The band had very little to work with, a live shot might have helped cut up seeing just the one guy singing and the backup guy that came later in the video.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for your feedback! It's good to know which parts made positive and negative impressions. I'll say, for the budget we were working with, we are pleased with the cg vine and fly trap footage. This was my first experience directing a video that mixed live action with cg, so I appreciate the feedback in that regard.

In reference to not seeing the band enough, that is certainly a valid creative decision. We may do another video for this band that is more performance-based. We pitched Guides as a heavily narrative video. I really appreciate the thought and insight of your critique. Thanks again!

Great concept. Some really great shots in there too. I feel the pacing left me a little 'skippy' where I was tempted to skip forward.
