Mirroring an image

I recently watched an interview by James Cameron and he said back in old days he would put his drawings in front of a mirror and then he would be able to see any difference in perspective. Recently, in a book about Cameron, I read that he used to do the same with any titanic drawings while they were building the ship set. I can someone please help me exactly how it works?

Titanic began running with the bow submerged, the frame being step by step tilted by a couple of degrees on the correct side, for the way that the opened space between the bolted plates caused by the crash Do My Homework Cheap was on the starboard side and water was rolling in starting there as it were.
