Nikon D5300, is it worth it?

My finger is hovering over the buy button for a Nikon D5300, so I wanted to get some feedback before I bite the bullet. This is my first DSLR for filmaking. I found a refurbished version for $570. I figure I can invest the savings in a slider and some second hand primes.

HD at 60fp. It seems fairly cheap, it hasn't got the moire problems of a Canon, and lenses are plentiful. The only issues I can see is no magic lantern (is it necessary?) , and I'm still a bit iffy about getting a refurbished product.

Does anyone have any experience or insight with the Nikon D5300? Is there something else that's better in this price range?

That's a great price. Do you get the normal warranty when buying refurbished ?

It comes with a 90 day warranty. I'm hoping 90 days is long enough to find out if there's any serious issues with it.

Usually if things are going to go wrong they will happen pretty quickly, and it can always be repaired by Nikon once the warranty is over.
