Has anyone used this mic regularly and have an opinion on it? I'll mostly be shooting run-and-gun doc-style footage, so I'd be using this for interviews and general purpose recording.
At this price point I would pick the Rode VideoMicro over the Rode VideoMic Go because it produces better audio and picks up less off-axis sound. ( and it's cheaper )

If price didn't matter then I would probably go for the Rode VideoMic Pro, which costs a lot more but produces slightly better sound.

I used to own the Rode VideoMic Go and yes it's affordable but overall the sound quality is 'OK' at best. I'm comparing it to the Rode VideoMic which takes a battery and actually delivers better audio. I actually went from the Rode VideoMic to the Rode VideoMic GO because I didn't want to deal with batteries and the size was a little easier to handle in my bag. But the quality wasn't as good. I would honestly put the money toward the Rode VideoMic > https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1152351-REG/rode_videomic_pro_r_v...
I use this at work on a 5D and it's awesome. Compact, battery powered and records great quality audio without breaking the budget.
