If so, what are the pros and cons? I'm talking about the mic itself and the new light weight boom pole.
I've played with the Rode Micro mic, but I haven't mounted it on a boom-pole. I think you will have no problems booming this mic as long as you do NOT use a mic extension cable longer than 10 feet. "Un-Balanced" mics ( almost all consumer mics that use mini-plug connectors are "un-balanced" mics ) will have signal problems when used with a mic extension longer than 10 feet. Rode actually sell a 10 foot mic extension cable just for this purpose.
To use a longer mic cable you would have to use a mic designed for a "balanced" XLR cable. XLR cables are good up to 200 - 300 feet, and can be extended much further than this with a XLR signal-booster for every 200 feet of cable.
