Student film maker seeking BM Ursa 4.6 advice

I'm a film student and film maker apprentice. Currently haven't bought my first camera to teach me the ups/downs and grow with me through my endeavors.

If I had the money to purchase the new black magic ursa mini 4.6 as a first time camera, would this be endorsed by you experienced film makers? I've researched this camera and this seems to hit the sweet spot between mediocre cameras and high end (RED, Alexa, etc).

What is it about the UM4.6k that makes it hit your "sweet spot"? I just want to understand how you came to that conclusion before I respond.

Organic filmic look as opposed to the gh4 (hear its great but the look out of the box is very electronic) or other cameras
Dynamic range is great
Also was considering the bm micro, cheaper, all manual (good for film apprentices), only 1080p, but do able. Still has that organic look that black magic is so famous for.

In this price area and especially because you are a film student I would recommend the Sony FS5 which is much more versatile than the URSA. Also count extra $10K to the purchase of the URSA. The FS5 is a camera to get out of the box an shoot. The URSA isn't.

Its a proper camera and at $5,000 for the EF version you could buy the other stuff needed for another $3,000 if its the organic look that you like then you wont necessarily get that from a Sony.If you can afford the BM Ursa Mini 4.6k then go ahead man.

Organic filmic look?

Sounds like voodoo marketing to me!
