TOP MEMBERS of NFS?
Hello, dear NFS!
There is a section down on the page that lists "TOP MEMBERS". It confuses me a lot. I would like to know what it means and what criteria are used to judge the TOPness of the member? I have an honour or a shame to be the second on the list...
Thanks.

It seems to largely show how active people are in terms of posting questions or answering, but I suspect there's more to it than this...

Your answer is very intriguing. Could you share more of your thoughts about it?
I'am not that much of an active member nor I have lots of points. The points are the mystery too btw.
This Boards thingy is nice addition to the website but I feel like it needs a lot of hard work and a good manual that explains why I have only 100 points and not 100000000 and why I've beed marked as the top member without even doing a single attempt to become one.

I know that you gain points when you up-vote another person's post, and when other people up-vote your own posts.
And I know that you lose points when you down-vote another person's post.
But I have no idea of the exact algorithm being used to calculate this number.
I don't think this really matters at all, just post and be happy. :-)

The actual formula is on our Community Guidelines page. But as with version one of most things, it's not particularly great... We wanted to launch the site and see how it's working and over time we will tweak it until it actually indicates something meaningful!
Architect, hah!
