Walking in front of a green screen

I'm directing a short film where we need the actor to walk in front of a green screen. The only problem is that it's a lot of walking, and the space in from of the green screen is limited, and setting up the light would take a lot of work.
I was thinking of buying a treadmill and painting it green, but before doing so, I thought it would be a good idea to ask if any of you have a better solution?

I'm gonna say that the solution you have is perhaps the best right now, buy something second hand and spray it green.

I've only ever seen people use treadmills, or film outside with someone carrying a greenscreen behind them as they walk on a key-green fabric.

I usually see the low profile ones from effects equipment companies being used.

If you want to go really shoestring you could consider shooting waist-up, and using a climbing harness suspended from a frame made of 2x4s, with something like a weight hung from the harness to keep them upright without stabilizing with their arms
