Whether looking to add to your color grading skill set or pick up the trade itself, getting the most out of DaVinci Resolve will soon be only a Zoom session away, thanks to a group of experts offering an online webinar. And it’s all for a very good cause.

Wading through the filmmaking subreddit this morning yielded some news that colorist Jill Bogdanowicz and several of her comrades are planning a series of online Zoom classes which promise to teach the ins and outs of Blackmagic’s premier post-production suite.

"Learn with Masters" will provide an online, 8-hour live interactive training session with a dozen noted DaVinci colorists and certified instructors. And if you miss anything, participants will be given access to session recordings.

Colorists featured in the event will include Walter Volpatto, who will act as moderator, along with Tom Poole (Company 3), and the aforementioned Jill Bogdanowicz (John Wick 3, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and The Joker).

Other panelists for the event include Marc Wielage, a 40-year veteran and certified Blackmagic instructor; Robbie Carman, lead colorist for DC Color; Mark Todd Osborne, and another certified DaVinci instructor, Jason Bowdach, to name a few.

All told, there are a dozen colorists who will offer their expertise and give you tips and tricks on how to color balance your next project.

The seminar will be live on June 26, from 4 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., and will cost $99, plus a service fee of $2.48, with all proceeds going to COVID-19 relief efforts in Bangalore, India. Session recordings will be available.
