writer/director

I'm an award-winning writer/director. I also do a bit of producing, editing, and shooting - I believe in being as versatile as possible in our increasingly-digital world. I'm based in the Midwest, I love playing complicated board games, I drink a lot of chocolate stout, and I eat a lot of pizza.

Article Comment – Amazon Glacier is an Affordable Cloud Backup Service, Moves at the Speed of...Well, a Glacier

Hey Brendan, great link and excellent point. I typically don't think film when backing up, but yes it does make a ton of sense for the final deliverable. However, it may not make as much sense to back up all your raw footage or alternate takes. Also, if you've ever got a tip or something, feel free to contact us with it - your idea here definitely has merit and value, for example.

Article Comment – Panasonic Accidentally Unveils the GH3 in Promotional Video

I'm a huge GH2 fan, and for a few additional specs, I'd happily pay more for the GH3. The ALL-I and codec selection are very attractive. That said, I feel like Panasonic should have made a bigger leap with the GH3 somehow... like the GH2 was so groundbreaking for the price. Is it wrong to have hoped for 2.5k or something?

Oh no, no need to explain. That's exactly what I was thinking this post needed... a fairy. : ) Yeah I imagine furniture sliders would work, but to me that almost negates the whole point? Because then that's a slide surface on top of another.

Article Comment – A Rig for Filming with Two Cameras at the Same Time... Sure, Why Not?

I would assume not. However, since you're shooting at the same exact time, does the 30 deg rule still apply since it's not technically a jump cut? I did a mind's-eye edit watching the video above, and a cut-in on those angles wouldn't really bother me too much.
