Benjamin Dewhurst

writer/director

I'm an award-winning writer/director. I also do a bit of producing, editing, and shooting - I believe in being as versatile as possible in our increasingly-digital world. I'm based in the Midwest, I love playing complicated board games, I drink a lot of chocolate stout, and I eat a lot of pizza.

Article Comment – A Rig for Filming with Two Cameras at the Same Time... Sure, Why Not?

: D I had no idea that "The Room", the fine wine that it is, was filmed with both a 35mm and a HD cam. That's just wonderful - it's a gift that keeps on giving.

Yeah, I would hope that you'd have your focus deep enough to be able to move about freely without being tied to an AC, which is the intention behind this.

Laurel, Anton - excellent find guys. This is exactly what we're looking at here. And it explains so much of what Speilberg has done.

I saw that Sebastian. But I'm refraining from watching it due to the potential spoilers I heard about in the comments!

Article Comment – Innovative 'Quikdraw' DSLR Lens Belt Provides Easy Run-and-Gun Prime Lens Switching

So you'd throw $80 directly in the trashcan? : ) Kidding aside, I'm curious to see the strength of the Quikdraw myself. I mean if it's anywhere near as strong/reliable as a Canon or Nikon mount then it should be fine, considering that those mounts already support the weight of the lenses themselves (plus gears or other add-ons).

That is a good solution for the cap, Richard. I'm all for taking advantage of unique gear and modding it for your needs. It reminds me of another Kickstarter product I had to mess with - the Fifty Dollar Follow Focus (remember that?)... The pulley system would slide on my lens gears, so I got one of those cell phone grippers and cut it up, put it between the pulley and gears, viola it started to pull.

Well yeah, I mean a bag is going to win out on protection and on price, but I think the whole point is the quick-drawing aspect of it... the name is apt! Apt I say!
