Matt Vesely

Matt Vesely is a South Australian writer, director and comedian, working across TV & Film. Matt works as Closer's development manager, and was a writer on their ABCTV comedy series, F***ING ADELAIDE. He was the script producer for Closer’s AACTA award-winning 4 part drama for SBS, THE HUNTING, and is the script producer and a writer for ABC comedy AFTERTASTE. His latest short, the sci-fi comedy SYSTEM ERROR, was selected for the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival. MY BEST FRIEND IS STUCK ON THE CEILING, starring Tom Ward (PLEASE LIKE ME) and Erin James (THE LITTLE DEATH), screened at festivals around the world including Adelaide Film Festival 2015, MIFF 2016, the Sydney Film Festival Dendy Awards 2016, Palm Springs ShortFest 2016 and more. In 2017, Matt was a clip producer and writer for ABCTV’s political news satire THE WEEKLY WITH CHARLIE PICKERING.
