Recreating Bourdain's voice through AI is unethical. The word documentary derives from the word "document," i.e. a real thing, a piece of evidence. If we are creating soundbites out of what we *think* he might've said, we are no longer making documentaries.
This comment is obviously incredibly ignorant and ill-informed but one thing you said is true. Yes, this film could have easily been shot with any of those cameras you mentioned. It just wouldn't have looked as good ;)
Thanks - post went well. I edited in FCPX. We did one shoot in CinemaDNG but I ended up transcoding those to ProRes anyway since FCP doesn't have a Raw workflow yet. The rest of the stuff was shot in ProRes 4444 XQ. Transcoded everything to 1080p proxies in LT first, then replaced everything towards the end with the full-res in order to deliver in 4k. I started with the camera's LUT and did the grade in FCPX as well because I was worried about round-tripping to Resolve. AfterEffects for the hologram shots and a few cleanup shots.
Thanks, Mike. No, this camera just came out in December. my film was shot on several cameras but mainly a Red Epic Dragon and a C500.
True. I haven't owned any others. I've shot on tons of other cameras, though, for film and client work via rentals: RED Epic Dragon, RED One M-X, BMCC, BMPC 4k, BM mini, BM Ursa Mini 4.6k, Canon C500, C300, C100, Sony F5, Panasonic GH4, Panasonic GX85, GoPro, probably some others.
