Amitabh Joshi

Amitabh Joshi is a cinematographer & filmmaker originally from Kathmandu, Nepal. He is currently based in New York City where he operates a production company, Vacant Light. Tashi’s Turbine was his first feature length documentary. Amitabh was awarded the Princess Grace JustFilms Grant in 2012, Center for Asian American Media Documentary Fund in 2014, and a participant in the New York Film Festival Artist Academy in 2016. Amitabh has worked as a cinematographer for Art21, Positive Exposure, Northside Media, and many other platforms and organizations. Most recently he served as cinematographer and co-producer on Yuqi Kang's film A Little Wisdom a feature length documentary having it's US premiere at SXSW 2018.
