Samyang just dropped the latest addition to its popular VDSLR line. The Samyang 16mm T2.6 ED AS UMC is a full frame wide angle cine lens designed for budget-conscious filmmakers using DSLR or mirrorless cameras with a 35mm sensor.

The aspherical cine lens has a wide angle in 106.91° and features Samyang's Ultra Multi Coating. Its optical construction outfits 14 glass elements in 11 groups to deploy its cinematic images and nine circular aperture blades create the out-of-focus "bokeh" effect.

To help alleviate color aberrations and distortion, two glass aspherical lenses, two extra-low distortion lenses, and two high refractive lenses are used while filming.

The T2.6 maximum aperture cine lens is optimally designed for professional follow focus systems thanks to the quiet and smooth de-clicked focus and aperture gear rings. Also, scale and distance T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience while filming wide-angle scenes.

The lens is available with the following popular camera mounts: Canon EOS EF, Nikon AE, Pentax K, Sony A-mount, Canon M, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Sony E, FT, and MFT.
