Has anyone else seen the new announcements from JVC about their new 4k camera lineup? I thought I would post it here in case someone hadn't seen it yet.

I saw an article on Redshark yesterday and then looked at the original announcement from JVC.
The GY-LS300 looks promising. Super35 sensor with an MFT lens mount. I'm curious to see how their "Variable Scan Mapping" will work to give the original FOV with respective lenses.

The GY-LS300 looks awesome, could have great potential. But will be a while until it comes out, and will then of course have to wait for user reviews before I consider getting it.

A lot will depend on its price too which is still not exactly known. I think if it is too close (which is likely) to the price of the Sony FS7 then it would be tough to pick it over what is likely to be a better Sony FS7.

The new ( coming out this week ) version 2.0 firmware adds a lot of new features to this camera, with the biggest 2 features being LOG recording ( with 12+ F-stops of dynamic range ) and a new Prime Lens Zoom feature. ( where you can zoom your prime lenses by up to 60 percent without any change in image quality )

I was not very excited about this camera when it was first announced, but 10-bit 4:2:2 4K internal LOG recording with a Super35 sensor suddenly makes this camera a lot more attractive. Especially with a sale price of $3,500.
