is 720p good enough for pulling focus off of a field monitor?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a cheap (I have no money) field monitor for my Nikon, and I've found one in 720p that works well. My question is this: is a 720p 7 inch monitor sharp enough to get accurate focus off of when recording in 1080? I've been scouring the internet for days, but I haven't found a definite answer.

Thanks!

Yes, if it's a good quality monitor and the display is large enough. A 7 inch 720p monitor with good contrast should be no problem.

Same as above. You could even go down to 4 inches and be fine. Look more for the contrast and overall image reproduction than resolution for focusing purposes.

actually i focus on 9' display 1024x600 for 4k camera.
good and sharp, with focus peaking allow me to work well on focus.
i'm going to see VA from blackmagic, 5' fullHd, but if i cannot try it... i don't know if my eyes can see correctly on smaller display with smaller pixel a real focus. :-D

Wow, how easy is that? Everything I read about focusing with a non HD display while shooting HD (especially 4k) consistently recommends not doing it.
