Budget projector to watch films at home?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a maximum 200€ new projector (I can get it used too) that allows me to watch films more pleasant than in a 100€ 24" pc monitor. I don't know anything about projectors, I just want one that is worth, not one that gets big image but with such a poor quality that I could stay with my screen. Cheers!

Look for a 720p projector, I have a 1080p, but don't think for practical purpose to pay double for 1080p

In order to project a +100 in image, I think 1080p is a must.

You need a far more expensive projector if you want to match the quality of a 100€ 24" pc monitor.

I've had a ViewSonic for over 5 years now, and it's still going strong. I know you have a tight budget, so my official recommendation is a ViewSonic in that price range. I love my projector to the point where I don't see myself ever buying a TV.

If you can swing it though, this is the 2016 equivalent of the one I got 5 years ago: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/926014-REG/viewsonic_pjd7820hd_ful...

Up the budget and go here as a starting point:-

Consider the Epson over a DLP model (in case you find your eyes are sensitive to DLP rainbow effect). The days of a spare lamp costing $500 and lasting only 2000 hrs are mostly gone now, so by all means grab a couple of spares and watch in eco mode for a very long life. Have a think about the viewing picture size (full wall?) and if you require any ambient lights on or total darkness. Go through the reviews, including any user reviews, and give yourself time to decide. Good luck.
