Back before Quentin Tarantino embarked on his mission to make ten films and be a singular voice, he was the hottest director in Hollywood and had a golden ticket to make whatever he wanted. After Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, The world was his oyster. and he could have picked any project to do next.

Including a James Bond movie.

Quentin Tarantino gave an interview with the German publication Zeit Magazine where he confirmed that he almost made Casino Royale in the mid-90s.

“Oh yes, I had read the book and thought it was pretty good. It basically tells James Bond's origin story. If I could have done it, it would have been my post-Pulp Fiction project. At that time, the producers of the Bond series did not have the rights to this book, and there was a decades-long legal battle over it. So it would have been conceivable that I would have filmed the book.

Obviously, this never happened. but it is an interesting idea to think of what Tarantino's Bond would have looked like, and who he would have cast in the role. But this is a fun idea to think about. and it's extremely cool that Tarantino bypassed these jobs to stick with his voice and cave our his legacy.
