Producers J.P. Ouellette and Dylan Matlock explained to me why they had to find a way to make Mass as soon as they finished reading it.

Even though there is so much about Mass to discuss (and we do discuss much of it) I really fixate on that one aspect of the story.

Why?

Just imagine how many scripts are finished and handed around to people every single day.

It's probably more than you ever imagined.

So often, we don't even finish a good script someone hands us because there is simply too much to do every single day. So often, a script is read, is good, and people want to make it... and they can't.

Mass separated itself from a gigantic heard of scripts for a few reasons. And those are the things I really wanted to know from JP and Dylan. As a seasoned and salty ex-producer and writer myself, I'm fascinated by how a script read could spur someone to action so quickly and with such unflinching commitment. After speaking with them... I completely understand why.
