Robert Rodriguez's Latin Shaft Gets a Red Band Trailer (NSFW)
Watching the latest trailer for DIY-to-Hollywood filmmaker Robert Rodriguez’s Machete, I felt like I was watching a Latino adaptation of the ’70s blaxploitation classic Shaft — albeit an extra bloody one. However, once I put “Robert Rodriguez’s Latin Shaft” into the title of the post, I realized that “Red Band” trailer could take on an entirely different meaning. I’m sticking with the title despite — or because of — this unintentional euphemism, but you can feel secure that the nudity in this NSFW trailer is not supplied by Rodriguez’s Latin Shaft (or for that matter, his Machete).
For all the blood, guts, nudity, and CGI blood in the red band trailer (the CGI blood gets a separate mention because it looks nothing like “real” fake blood), I’ve gotta say the special Arizona immigration law version of the trailer makes the movie seem like a lot more fun:
What do you think? Is this going to be “better” Rodriguez (El Mariachi, Desperado, Sin City) or “lackluster” Rodriguez (Once Upon a Time in Mexico, The Faculty, Planet Terror)?

Looks like a great cast, but if the trailer is anything to go by, it looks to over the top for me. Planet Terror all over again.
