Learn After Effects CC Fundamentals for Free Online with This Live Workshop
Been wanting dip your toes into After Effects, but been too shy? Well here’s your chance. Visual effects veteran Jeff Foster brings us a free live workshop via creativeLIVE this August 12th-13th, exploring the basics behind the Creative Cloud iteration of AE. Interested? Hit the jump for more details.
The class begins Monday, August 12th at 9am and will help students learn how to “animate, manipulate, re-time, composite, command 3D space and much more.” Jeff Foster’s background in VFX goes back 20 years, so this is sure to be a good learning experience for those looking to get started with After Effects — and it’s friggin’ free.
You’ll learn the basics for controlling movement, animating simple objects and 3D space, create interesting text and title animations, composite videos with and without green screen. Using real-world production examples, Jeff will guide you through this complex program and unpack the tools and terminology so that you can apply your skills right away and with confidence.
It cost $80 to purchase after the fact, but it’s free if you watch it live:
If you can’t attend or view the 3-day workshop live or want to review it at a later time, you can purchase the workshop for later viewing any time – PLUS, when you purchase the workshop, you will also get the project files and assets used in the workshop to follow along and complete on your own!
Sounds like a good deal to me — click here to enroll for the workshop.
Also, if you’re interested and you’re in the Bay area, consider attending the workshop live. With the state of the VFX industry in flux, I think it’s valuable to start learning some of the basics for ourselves.
