The American Society of Cinematographers, the ASC, has announced the nominations of this year's ASC Awards, which celebrates achievments in, you guessed it, cinematography by those who work in feature films, both theatrical and non-theatrical, documentaries,  and TV, including miniseries, commercial, and non-commercial.

This year, it looks like the nominees in the Theatrical Release category are also the big contenders for an Oscar: Moonlight, which has won well over a hundred awards since its release, including a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture: Drama, and La La Land, which essentially took home all of the other Golden Globes.

Here's a list of the nominations for the 2017 ASC Awards:

  • Greig Fraser, ASC, ACS, Lion
  • James Laxton, Moonlight
