A Whole Bunch of HDSLR Gear from PhotoCine EXPO 2010
This year's PhotoCine EXPO wrapped up this week, and the west coast event has been well-covered (here are some roundups of the expo). I was polishing off a script all week, so I missed many of the new gadgets that debuted at the event; here, then, is a roundup of the myriad new DSLR tools demonstrated and announced at the expo.
Cinema5D filed an update on Jag35's new pro line of HDSLR cages, as well as Monitor X, an interesting viewfinder/monitoring solution:
ProVideo Coalition checked out Marshalls new HDSLR monitor, the V-LCD50-HDMI:
Planet5D shows a live demo of the previously-mentioned Redrock viewfinder:
Cinema5D got the low down on some new products from high-end camera outfit O'Connor:
This isn't PhotoCine-specific to my knowledge, but CheesyCam shows ikan's new gearless follow focus, for shooters with a minimal approach/budget:
Cinema5D checks out the Teradeck Cube HD transmitter, which allows you to use your laptop/iPhone/iPad as a HD monitor on shoots:
Robin Schmidt aka El Skid uncovered another DSLR viewfinder (besides the aforementioned Redrock and the Z-Finder EVF), from a heretofore unknown company called Seculine. Shot by James Stoneley:
Any of these look handy to you? Were there some tools that I missed (that you might've covered)? Let me know and I'll add them to the list.
