The winners of the 2012 Vimeo Festival have been announced, and unlike a regular film festival, where it could be months before you get to see the films of the winners, you can watch the videos right now embedded below. Philip Bloom, a presenter at the 2012 show, put together the list of winners and also embedded them on his site. Just because you haven't seen any good videos on Vimeo lately, doesn't mean they don't exist. Even if you're not a fan of all of them (hopefully at least one of them), they are still of a higher quality which many of us should aspire to.

We all know by now that you don't need a budget anymore to make an interesting piece of work (though it can certainly help). Creativity and a drive to succeed will go a long way to furthering your career and setting you on the right path. Vimeo is a great community of filmmakers and artists who are passionate about the craft, and the festival is a culmination of months and years of hard work and dedication from professionals and amateurs alike.

Worth noting: Joe and I will both be at the Vimeo festival this weekend (which kicked off this AM) -- see some of y'all there! I'm also on a panel Saturday at 2 in the main hall.

definitely some amazing work here good job to everyone. I'm sorry but i don't agree with the grand prize and the documentary was a waste of 9 min. don't get me wrong i watched symmetry a year ago and thought it was great but def not worth grand prize. i can't come close to producing anything of this caliber but just my opinion...

I agree with you, that shortfilm was good for a web short, great in technical aspects but I don't see how it could have won.
