For screenwriters planning to submit to the Academy Nicholl Fellowships this year, the clock is ticking. In fact, if you plan to take advantage of the Regular Deadline submission fee, you only have until this Thursday, Apr. 10 at 5 pm PT to submit your screenplay. So don't wait until 11:59 pm PT on Apr. 10, or you'll discover those few extra hours just cost you fifteen extra bucks. Check out the details on how to submit your screenplay and the current data from this year's competition below.
If your screenplay needs a little more work and you're willing to pay that extra fifteen bucks, don't freak out. You still have until May 1 at 5 pm PT to submit to the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting by the final deadline. But if you have been writing and rewriting diligently, and you want to submit your screenplay before the final deluge of scripts on May 1, make sure you don't miss the deadline this Thursday.
If the submissions continue along the same trend, the Nicholl Fellowships should crack over 4,000 submissions by the Regular Deadline. In the final three weeks, though, more than 3,000 additional screenplays will arrive over the virtual transom.
And we can't stress enough to pay attention to the 5 pm PT cut-off times. We're so accustomed to online submissions staying open until 11:59 pm, but that isn't the case this year for the Academy Nicholl Fellowships. Don't be the screenwriter that shows up on the website to submit on May 1 at 11:50 pm PT thinking you have ten minutes to spare. Just don't.
Screenwriters who have earned less than $25,000 over their lifetime writing fictional work for film and/or television are eligible to apply. Check out the extensive FAQ for answers to all of your questions about the Academy Nicholl Fellowships.
