With 21x Zoom, These Macro Lenses Let You Get Up Close & Personal on Your iPhone 6

It's clear that smartphone feature filmmaking is not only possible, but potentially career-making -- with the right add-ons and extras.

The filmmakers of Tangerine did it with a Moondog Labs 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter, the FiLMiC Pro app, and an iPhone 5s (as well as some excellent filmmaking chops, of course), but what about lenses? There are several really well-made smartphone lens attachments out there that get great results, but one highly-respected company, Olloclip, has come out with their Macro Pro Lens series for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus that comes with 7x, 14x, and 21x zoom attachments, designed to be changed out quickly and easily. They produce some really stunning images, which you can check out in the video below:

  • Advanced six element optics deliver edge-to-edge clarity
  • Award-winning compact design works with no extra parts needed
  • Included InstaFocus™ hoods naturally collect and diffuse light and facilitate focusing
  • Works with all photo and video apps

At $70 for the set, the Macro Pro Lens seems like a good investment if you're interested in getting more professional, aesthetic images from your iPhone 6/6 Plus. Also, Olloclip has several other lenses that could be purchased to round out your collection, including fisheye, super wide-angle, 2x telephoto, CPL, and more. I think you mean 21x magnification, not zoom.

I think you're correct, and you can't focus it. So, what you get is just a magnified image. DOF sucks too.
