TV Logic's New 5.5" OLED Monitor is Among the Nicest We've Ever Seen

This on-camera monitor is perfect for 1st ACs and anyone who wants sharp and accurate monitoring in the palm of their hand.

When many companies boast similar specs, it's hard to explain why some seem to look and feel better than others, but TV Logic's new 5.5" is really, really nice. Despite its fairly low brightness (at 350nit) compared to the new SmallHD 5" for example, the OLED pixels just look excellent, with pristine sharpness and well-rendered colors.

So, is the reason this is a non-daylight viewable, $1700 5 inch monitor, just because of OLED, or the build looks/ feels better? Did he mention/ show any scopes, peaking, etc?

It's a fully-featured monitor with all those scopes, peaking, audio levels, etc. plus on-point color and contrast rendering.

TVLogic's got a solid history of high-end production monitors that speaks for most of the functions that get the marketing hype in lower-cost gear.

Gotcha. It would've been great to hear some of that, or at least be assured of it, in the post.

I would say the biggest thing about TVLogic is the color accuracy. As much as I love SmallHD, and i prefer using their monitors for a multitude of reasons, they're just horribly off when it comes to colors in comparison to TVLogic. It's been at the point where some DP's I've worked with, have ended up not using the monitor due to not being able to trust it. With TVLogic, not so much ...

As a tech who works at a rental house, I can attest that TV Logic makes a very solid monitor.
