How often have you been out on a video production shoot when you’d like to sync up your pocket-sized wireless monitor with your camera… but you want to stand 13.88 football fields away? Well, you’re now in luck!
Teradek has just announced that they’re releasing a new Bolt 4K LT MAX, which, as its name implies, really goes the MAX distance for providing wireless video solutions for your on-location shooting needs.
- Video: Up to 4Kp30
- Range: 3000' (914.4m) (Standard Mode) up to 5000' (1524m) (Broadcast Mode)
- Inputs: 3G-SDI, HDMI 2.0
- Outputs: 3G-SDI, HDMI 2.0
- Multicast: Unlimited with Broadcast Mode
- Compatibility: Bolt 4K Family
Let’s check out this new rugged, compact, and very versatile Bolt 4K LT MAX to see if it might be right for you.
Looooong Range Capabilities
Based on the same line—and interchangeable with—Teradek’s Bolt 4K family, the Bolt 4K LT MAX can help further streamline and future-proof your production setup with the same solid 4Kp60 video that you might expect, yet with new wireless camera control from anywhere from 750 to 5,000+ feet of range.
And while you might think that it might be a bit extreme to have almost nearly a mile of wireless camera control range, any serious—or at least creative—video professional can tell you that this might be super helpful on set.
4K and HDR On-Set Monitoring
Here's what Greg Smokler, GM of Cine Production at Creative Solutions, has to say about the product.
“The Bolt 4K LT line is the onramp to 4K and HDR on-set monitoring, but it has been missing an ultra long-range powerhouse. We’ve taken the pocket-sized envelope of the 4K LT and packed in the incredible long-range performance of the full Bolt 4K MAX, resulting in the perfect balance of size and performance.”
What’s also cool about the Bolt 4K LT MAX is just how much is still packed into such a small and easy-to-use frame. The 4K LT MAX is still capable of sending 10-bit 4:2:2 video at up to 4Kp30 through HDMI (also 1080p60 through SDI), which should provide plenty of resolution for your production needs.
You can also monitor all your footage from the free Teradek Bolt app (available for both iOS and Android) which can also wireless pair with any TX or RX devices.
