Tom Cruise Has a Really Important Message For You

Tom Cruise Has a Really Important Message For You
It's nice to see a major celebrity weigh in on the big issues of our time.

Tom Cruise, decked out in his Maverick gear, wants to talk to us about motion smoothing. Say what you will about Mr. Cruise, but he's always made one thing very clear; he considers the movies and movie-watching experience to be sacred and he'll do anything to keep it that way.

With the same laser focus he brings to his roles, Cruise and his Mission Impossible: Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie bring us this message about the effects of motion smoothing and how easily it can corrupt a filmmakers vision. Check it out below.

Check out Slashfilm for more details on this powerful PSA, and specifically how motion smoothing might be affecting you without your even knowing it.

After this PSA, Tom Cruise might be the movie hero we need and deserve.

Yeah right? So creepy.
The best thing to do right now is to activate motion smoothing again just to be sure.

I carry a universal remote with me at all times so that I can disable motion smoothing on any TV I come across.

Motion-smoothing is the work of Satan. Thanks to Tom Cruise for helping to expose this vile pestilence. I would join the Church of Scientology if this scourge could be wiped out. Motion-smoothing BE GONE!

That was great. Back when the tech first came out and Electronic stores weren't afraid of people stealing the remotes, I've turned it off whenever I had the chance. A few button presses and suddenly everything looks right again=)
