It's been really hard to hear about movie theaters closing around America. I live next to the AMC in Century City, and some of my favorite memories in Los Angeles have been seeing movies there. I have gone to friends' premieres, seen some work that truly changed me, and broke up with an ex in the parking garage when I couldn't find my car for 45 minutes.

Going to the movies is a huge part of my life. I love going at 10 a.m. on Sundays, a ritual I call "Murch."

It's been hard to miss all of that. It's been hard to worry about that not coming back.

Now, if you want to support your local AMC, you have something you can do from the couch. AMC is offering you the ability to rent new releases through their website, for you to view at home.

AMC On Demand allows you to watch new releases and some curated older titles for varying prices at home. You can stream them on your laptop or to your TV, paying around $19.99 for a new release.

No word on the profit margin here, but I assume it is close to what we see in theaters.

So if you want to support your local AMC, rent new releases through them. Hopefully, this initiative gives them some extra cash flow and allows them to keep people employed and locations open while the vaccine gets rolled out.

If you have tried this, let us know how it went in the comments!
