The Public Beta of Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve 17 Is Now Available
The official release of DaVinci Resolve inches closer.
Blackmagic unveiled DaVinci Resolve 17 during a two-hour livestream showcasing all the latest features across the robust platform that includes tools for editing, sound, visual effects, and of course color grading. Now, a week later, Blackmagic has released Public Beta 2 for the free version of DaVinci Resolve and the Studio version with more than 50 performance and stability improvements.
As with any good software company, pushing it out in beta form first allows them to track and fix all the bugs and user issues before launching it to the public as a stable build. Following the initial beta, Blackmagic says it has improved the color picker behavior for color warper, improved optical flow tracking and pasting for Fusion, implemented 9.1.6 and 22.2 surround sound bus support, and included real-time removal of 3:2 pull down, among a long list of others.
The beta is available for download to macOS (min. 10.14.6 Mojave), Windows 10, and Linux users. It's suggested to have 16GB of RAM, and 32GB for Fusion and if you're a Linux user.
